We were founded by Managing Partner, Danny Vanner a decade ago to focus purely on building boards and management teams for investor backed growth businesses and over this time we have played a key role in helping many clients to achieve and exceed their ambitions.
Our specialism sets us apart as we truly understand the types of challenges investor backed growth businesses face and the rare types of leaders such businesses need to move the needle, leaders experienced in supporting ambitious growth companies, leaders well suited to investor backed environments, leaders with the mindset necessary to achieve the right outcome. We know how and where to find these types of leaders in the marketplace and how to help clients attract and recruit them.
B. Dedicated Service & Urgency Larger Search Firms Can’t Match
We are obsessed with how to best serve clients and believe this is by providing a personal and truly dedicated service. To provide clients with a truly dedicated service, Managing Partner, Danny Vanner, manages all aspects of client searches. This joined up approach means Danny has the detail, sees the big picture, can move quickly and ultimately provide better solutions for clients.
Firstly at the client engagement stage Danny gets to know a client and deeply understand their business, strategic plans, key opportunities and challenges, how the role being hired ties in and the type of candidate and skillsets needed, provides appropriate challenge where necessary and ensures all stakeholders are aligned on the role and candidate requirements. Once the search begins the first stage is the market and candidate research stage where Danny typically spends 100+ hours identifying those prospective candidates that fit into the clients ideal candidate set. This includes conducting extensive research into the clients market, relevant companies in the market and prospective candidates involved with these companies past and present, conducting research into business deals in the clients market and prospective candidates involved with these businesses past and present, taking candidate recommendations from our extensive network of Chairmen, CEOs and Investors in the space and reviewing our extensive candidate network built over a decade. At the candidate engagement stage Danny strategises on how to present the opportunity to generate maximum interest from prospective candidates and then approaches, engages and thoroughly qualifies these individuals. Danny then introduces the client to the best suited candidates, arranges interviews, closely manages feedback and communications throughout and finally, efficiently manages the offer and acceptance process. Danny typically shortlists positions within 3 weeks of engagement and completes searches within 8 to 10 weeks of engagement.
C. Fair Fee Structure
The fee structure is fair, simple and largely results based. For permanent searches there is a small retainer fee at the outset, no fees in the middle of the search, and a success fee at the end of the search once the client has secured the preferred candidate. For interim searches there is simply a success fee at the end of the search once the client has secured the preferred candidate.
